Hmm... I can agree with many points that this story makes about why single-sex education may be beneficial. But to completely make education single-sexed? That's going too far. By doing that you're going to shift the weight on the balance not to the middle but to the other side. Here's why:
Although single-sex education may provide benefits in academics for boys and girls, completely making education single-sexed is not a good thing but rather a neutral thing because the con is that boys and girls won't learn to develop healthy relationships (at least, not until their out of school. ...which brings me to my next concern...). I mean, the educational system is supposed to TEACH, not just academics but as bchs says, life skills. Okay maybe not so much as "teach" with paper, pen, and a textbook, but more like "allow for others to learn the skills through interaction." If the educational system completely separates genders in the school environment, the educational system is going to lose more of its title as "interactivity". The system won't be able to provide the environment needed for boys and girls to learn necessary skills together. And then what? Once you're out of school, you'll be back in the mixed-gender environment... but at what cost? School! Even though you're now back with a mixed-gender society, now the problem is, that you don't have the "school" to help you learn what you might need to learn to develop those skills. Sure, maybe holding off on learning about these life skills and relationships until AFTER school may be better in the sense that there's less chance of corruption since the person is more mature, but the problem is, again now without the "school", the person is left to learn those relationship skills on his/her own, or pay more money for special schooling on relationships. That, in my books, is considered, "harder".

So... here's my theory:
*Encourage single-sex education ONLY TO A CERTAIN POINT. It may be wise to have academic classes gender-separated, but there NEEDS to also be classes that both boys and girls [can] attend... not necessarily for math, or history, or music, but for life skills, and human values, and relationships. By doing this, there's a balance.
And if teachers and staff think that putting the boys together with the girls in some of the classes may cause sexual conduct in school, it's simple: Explain to them in a comfortable environment and a calm attitude why sexual conduct in school is not the best place (which is: because usually when people engage in sexual conduct in school it is because of lust, not love) BUT... DO NOT condemn the people that what they're doing (or could be doing) is [morally] wrong, because in honesty, it really isn't wrong (unless you abuse the gift). Who says sex is morally wrong? If God doesn't site anything about sex being morally wrong, and that if you have sex you will burn in the eternal lake of fire (metaphorically speaking... I actually don't believe in hell), then it's not morally wrong. God only states that when sex is used as lust or domination, and not love, that's when it is morally wrong (adultery, and "lust" as being a deadly sin).
