An Interview with Michael Wesch – US Professor of the Year Discusses Anti-Teaching Techniques

We have written extensively regarding the work of Professor Michael Wesch, a cultural anthropologist and teacher at Kansas State University. We have offered links to his videos and his writings, all cutting edge looks at education in the age of technology.

We had hoped to perhaps do an interview with the professor but given his schedule could not connect. Today we offer a brief video from Blip.tv of a recent interview with the man selected by the ‘Council for Advancement and Support for Education’ and ‘The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching’ as one of four college educators to win 2008 US Professor of the Year honors.

Readers will be interested to hear Wesch discuss his approach to harnessing the collective potential of classes containing 400 students and the subsequent need for anti-teaching techniques.
