I just wanted to be able to thank this music teacher personally by email or written. He is a hero by my standards. I am a 15 yr vet in law enforcement n the metro Atlanat area and a retired USMC GYSGT. After watching what you have done sir is amazing to say the least. I watch each child and they display all different emotions while they sing. They are indivisuals each and all.
Great job, your parent are def proud!!

I’ve been watching closely for the past two years and Greg’s method is all there, from his organization of altos and sopranos to his ear for harmony to his love for vocal breaks. What I most appreciate from him as an educator is the gift of his blogspot. One can evolve with the chorus in real time through weekly visits to their site. You have an opportunity to get to know the kids and appreciate them as individuals. Greg’s great achievement is the story arc of each school year. One can see the young chorus evolve and mature in a few brief months. Their confidence as singers, performers, and emoters has matured by their final performances in June and July. Kudos to Greg for letting us in for a glimpse. How he will survive this glut of celebrity and exposure is anybodies guess but this thing is blowing up into something that will, by the shear weight of its own popularity, alter much of what has been innocent and so beautiful.

Gregg- you are just the GREATEST!!! How lucky those kids are to have you…..and how proud your Principal and the NYC Board of Ed. must be to have someone of your caliber in their midst.
Kudos to you and of course your parents who have obviously done a great job in steering you in the right course for your life.

You’re my music teaching idol (I teach in Austin, TX). ! Aside from other other marvelous aspects of your teaching and your students’ performance, I’m dying to know how you teach kids to sing in such marvelous harmony. I’d kill to you more about your method!

It’s one thing to hear about what he does and to watch the videos but to see the kids in person takes it to a whole other level. I wish everyone could get to see these kids perform and the passion that everyone puts into things. It truly is magical! Thanks for writing such a great article.
